Dental implants are designed to serve as an artificial root for a missing tooth. They can support crowns, fixed bridges, or dentures. Implants also help prevent the bone loss and deterioration that can result after you lose a tooth. How implants work The implant consists of two parts: the implant itself, which replaces the root of the missing tooth, and the abutment, which supports the restoration for the missing tooth. The implant is surgically placed in your jaw and left to heal. When healing is complete, the abutment is placed, and the restoration is attached to it. Once it is in place, the implant can last a lifetime with proper care. Call us today to learn more about implants or to make an appointment.

What’s involved
- Assessment of bone volume and gum health, with imaging, before anything is planned.
- A titanium implant placed in the jaw to act as the root of the new tooth.
- Healing time, then a custom crown, bridge or denture attachment on top.
- The option of sedation for anxious patients and longer appointments.
- Written staging and cost for each step, so you can decide one visit at a time.
Dental Implants questions we get
Does implant placement hurt?
The placement is done under local anaesthetic, so you should not feel it. Most people manage afterwards with ordinary pain relief for a few days.
Am I too old for an implant?
Age is not the deciding factor — bone and general health are. Many of our implant patients are over 65.
What if I do not have enough bone?
A graft can rebuild it, or we plan a bridge or denture instead. We tell you which applies to you at the assessment.
